Culinary journey
My culinary journey began as a family responsibility, as the elder child, I was responsible for taking care of my siblings while my mother is away at work - She works at a Primary Healthcare Centre. I assumed cooking fully when I was 15 and started exploring beyond recipes I learnt from my mum, I would browse the internet for different recipes and bring them to life in our little Kitchen. With a lot of trial and error, the kitchen became part of me and I’m known to always preparing one meal or the other.
I perceived cooking as the top most skill I could possess, an activity I would always engage even when I am tired.
Over the years, cooking became the identity I could never hide and I am known for being in the frontline when it comes to cooking.
My culinary journey carries a lot of efforts to exploring Nigerian food items, going beyond regulars, exploring our roots, flavours and transforming simple ingredients to incredible dishes.
Cooking inspiration
My cooking is always inspired by nature. The richness and freshness of vegetables, spices and available protein inspires different ideas in me. I find immense pleasure in transforming fresh farm foods into healthy and aromatic dishes
Signature dish
Suya spiced Steak with mashed butternut squash and hollandaise. Recent I found butternut squash versatile, the sweet nutty flavor makes me incorporate it in different dishes.
Kindly note that as a food enthusiast, I tend to explore different ingredients and techniques, which results into having different unique dishes
Why I want to participate
I learnt about Eko flavour 2024 and I see the stage as a dream and a place I would love the world to see my creatively. I believe in my ability to bring flavors to life using different techniques, unique combinations, competitive plating and most especially my love for Nigerian bold flavors. Beyond the show, I believe that the competition is an avenue to dive deeper into the culinary industry as I value connecting with like mind people.
What winning would mean
Becoming the next Eko Flavour culinary star would be success i could ever dream about. I Would see it as an avenue to grow fully into culinary industry and a portal to connect with great Nigerian Chefs while redefining myself for the better.
