- Business challenge
- One of the biggest challenges I face in my food business is limited capital, which makes it difficult to get the right equipment, maintain steady production and expand my reach. I also need more business knowledge, mentorship and visibility to take my business to the next level.
Culinary journey
my culinary journey has been one of passion, growth, creativity, and continuous learning. What started as an interest in cooking gradually grew into a serious passion for creating delicious meals and turning simple ingredients into memorable experiences. Over the years, I have gained experience in food preparation, presentation, and running a food business. I have explored different dishes and flavours while constantly improving my skills and learning from every experience.
My journey has not always been easy, but every challenge has helped me become more confident, creative, and resilient in the kitchen. From preparing meals for customers to developing my own food brand, every step has contributed to the chef I am becoming today.
Cooking inspiration
My culinary journey was inspired by my love for food, creativity, and the joy that comes from making people happy through what I create. I have always been fascinated by how simple ingredients can be transformed into something delicious and meaningful.
The smiles and positive reactions I received when people tasted my food encouraged me to keep learning and improving. Every cooking experience, challenge, and mistake taught me something new and pushed me to become better.
Signature dish
Two dishes that truly represent my culinary style are Nigerian Jollof Rice and Shawarma.
My jollof rice is one of my signature dishes because I enjoy creating that perfect balance of rich tomato flavour, aromatic spices, and well-seasoned rice. I pay attention to the cooking process to achieve a delicious, flavourful dish with the right texture.
Shawarma is another dish I am passionate about. I love combining well-seasoned fillings, fresh ingredients, and delicious sauces to create a satisfying meal.
Both dishes reflect my approach to cooking: bold flavours, attention to detail, creativity, and a genuine passion for making food people enjoy.
Why I want to participate
I want to participate in this competition because I see it as an opportunity to showcase creativity, and passion for food. Over the past years, I have grown through experience, challenges, and continuous learning, and I believe this competition will give me the opportunity to challenge myself and see how far I have come.
I also want to learn from other talented chefs, gain new experiences, receive valuable feedback, and improve my skills. I believe this competition can be an important step toward achieving my dream of becoming a better chef and building a successful culinary career.
What winning would mean
Winning this competition would mean so much to me because it would be a powerful confirmation that my hard work, dedication, and passion for cooking are making a difference. It would give me greater confidence in my abilities and motivate me to keep pushing myself to become a better chef.
