- Business challenge
- One challenge I want Eko Flavors to help me overcome is taking my culinary talent and business to the next level. I’ve built my journey mostly through self-discovery, hard work, and opportunities that came my way, but I know there is still so much more to learn.
I want to challenge myself, gain more exposure, learn from other talented chefs, and build the confidence and skills I need to turn my passion into a bigger culinary brand.
Culinary journey
I’ve always loved cooking, but during lockdown, I discovered it wasn’t just a hobby it was my passion.
In 2020, I got my first commercial gig to cook half a bag of jollof rice for a party, and I did so well. That moment made me believe this was a talent God had blessed me with.
I started selling bowls, and in 2021, I got the opportunity to train cooks for a restaurant. In 2024, I set up another restaurant, trained the cooks, and managed it for a year.
In 2025, I won Delicious or Disaster, Season 2, Episode 3. Then in 2026, my business grew, bringing more clients, opportunities, and a bigger audience.
Now, I’m working towards opening my own walk-in space, and here I am, auditioning for Eko Flavors, ready to take my passion to the next level.
Cooking inspiration
My inspiration for cooking comes from my love for food and my granny, a successful retired chef. Growing up, I watched her passion for cooking, and I believe that passion was passed down to me.
During lockdown, I discovered that cooking wasn’t just a hobby it was my passion and a God given talent. From my first commercial gig in 2020 to growing my business today, every step has strengthened my love for what I do.
Now, I’m here at Eko Flavors, ready to share my talent and take my journey to the next level. ❤️
Signature dish
My signature dishes are Nigerian Jollof Rice, Native Rice, and my signature cocktail, Pink Lady.
My Jollof Rice and Native Rice are my bestsellers because I don’t just follow recipes — I put my own touch into them. I focus on deep, rich flavours, the right balance of spices, and that authentic Nigerian taste that keeps my customers coming back for more. They’re dishes I’ve perfected through years of cooking and listening to my customers.
My Pink Lady cocktail is a creation I first made during Delicious or Disaster. It combines palm wine, coconut flavour, rum, Campari and grenadine.l later made it for my clients, and they absolutely loved it.
For me, these dishes represent my creativity, my Nigerian roots, and my passion for creating flavours people remember.
Why I want to participate
I want to participate in Eko Flavors because I see it as an opportunity to challenge myself, showcase my creativity, and share my love for Nigerian food with a bigger audience.
I’ve come a long way from cooking my first half bag of jollof in 2020 to building my own food business, and I believe this platform can help take my journey to the next level.
Most importantly, I want to learn, connect, inspire others, and prove that a God-given talent can become a beautiful purpose.
What winning would mean
Winning to me means more than taking home a prize. It means knowing that my hard work, creativity, and God-given talent have made an impact.
It would be a confirmation that I’m on the right path, an opportunity to inspire others, and a step closer to my dream of building something bigger with my food.
Winning would mean growth, purpose, and proving to myself that I can go even further. ❤️
