- Business challenge
- Eko Flavours could help me overcome the challenge of limited visibility and access to opportunities for my food business. It would give me the exposure, knowledge, mentorship and platform I need to grow my brand, reach more customers and turn my passion for food into a stronger and more sustainable business.
Culinary journey
I have strong culinary skills with experience in preparing and presenting a variety of snacks and treats. I specialize in making crunchy plantain chips, chin chin, tapioca treats, and other delicious snack items. I am skilled in food preparation, hygiene, portioning, packaging, creativity, and maintaining consistent taste and quality. As a food vendor, I also have experience preparing orders according to customers’ preferences and handling both small and bulk orders professionally.
Cooking inspiration
What inspired my cooking is my passion for cooking and the way I grew up watching my mom prepare dishes that always stood out at every family gathering. Seeing how much people enjoyed her food inspired me to develop my own passion for cooking and create dishes that people can enjoy and remember.
Signature dish
My signature dishes are veggies white rice with fish stew, spicy chicken, Amala with ewedu and stew, tapioca treat, and my plantain chips. I really enjoy making these because I love creating food that is tasty, well-seasoned, and satisfying. My plantain chips and tapioca treat are also special to me because they are part of what I’ve built my brand around. I always put passion and care into everything I make, from the taste to the presentation.
Why I want to participate
I want to participate in the Eko Flavour Cook Competition because cooking is something I am truly passionate about. I see this competition as an opportunity to showcase my culinary skills, creativity, and the love I put into every meal I prepare.
I also want to challenge myself, learn from other talented cooks, gain more experience, and expose my cooking to a wider audience. Most importantly, I want to represent my unique cooking style and show what I can create with the flavours and dishes I grew up loving.
What winning would mean
Winning would mean more than just taking home a prize to me. It would mean seeing my hard work, passion, creativity, and growth being recognized. It would also give me the confidence and opportunity to take my culinary journey and my business to the next level. Most importantly, it would remind me that with consistency, passion, and determination, my dreams are achievable.
