Culinary journey
It has been nothing short but amazing thou it had its up’s and downs which is normal it has been an exciting, adventurous and educating journey. I can simply say from learning skills and techniques to trying and exploring new dishes thank to some clients to teaching people about the craft
Cooking inspiration
From the genesis of my life cooking had alway been part of it born into a family with parents that could cook and some family members as caterers (cook) this was a huge impact asides from the fact that I was fascinated with everything that concerned food. Then going to university where I used the little knowledge I learnt then to make a living cooking for students and turning my course mate to testers anytime I tried a new recipe. Then fast forward to after Uni when I decided to pick culinary school over NYSC sincerely from the start it has always been the genuine love for the craft and how I can get better at what I do and what I love.
Signature dish
Yaji Fusion
Double-fried yaji-spiced chicken wings glazed in a sweet suya reduction, plated over a swipe of yaji aioli and finished with crushed peanuts. Alongside sit toasted Agege bread croutons with a zobo-pickled onion slaw for tang, and a bundle of sweet potato Japanese fries. Nigerian street-food flavor: suya, yaji spice, Agege bread, zobo. It has been reworked into one elevated composed plate: familiar comfort food, elevated technique, unmistakably Afro-fusion.
Why I want to participate
It’s a huge stepping stone which significantly comes with growth, exposure and experience
What winning would mean
Winning will mean I made the right decision to follow my dreams that my craft isn’t just a hobby but my passion, that all the sacrifices made towards it wasn’t in vain and it would also mean I have done well and succeeded in making my parent’s proud
