- Eko Flavours will help me overcome two major hurdles: market visibility for my catering business and personal confidence as a growing chef.
Culinary journey
Inspiration started at home, but ambition took me to culinary school. My love for cooking was born in my mom’s kitchen, where I learned to respect ingredients and the comfort a great dish can bring. Realizing I wanted to make food my life’s work, I enrolled in formal culinary education to build a rigorous technical foundation. Transitioning from home cooking to professional training refined my skills, sharpened my discipline, and set the stage for my current journey.
Cooking inspiration
Food holds an unmatched ability to bring people together. The effort, thought, and attention to detail behind every dish create a meaningful connection at the table. My true inspiration as a chef isn't just mastering technical skills; it is crafting delicious meals that create lasting memories and bring joy to those who share them.
Signature dish
My signature dish is Smokey Party Jollof Rice—a dish defined by balance, patience, and precise heat management. Achieving its requires building a rich, concentrated pepper base and carefully controlling steam and flame to infuse every grain with a natural, wood-fired smokiness, balancing acidity, spice, and moisture while maintaining firm, perfectly separated grains.
Why I want to participate
"I want to participate in this competition because I am ready to show the world what I bring to the table. Growing up as the daughter of a caterer, cooking wasn't just a career path it was our way of life.
What winning would mean
Winning this opportunity means proving that a caterer’s daughter, equipped with deep heritage and formal technique, can command any stage and deliver world class culinary excellence and it will also help to boost my confidence in the food industry.
