- Business challenge
- One challenge I would like Eko Flavours to help me overcome is limited access to opportunities and exposure that can help me grow as a professional cook. I have the passion and determination to succeed, but I want to build my confidence, improve my culinary skills, learn from experienced chefs, and gain the exposure needed to take my cooking career to the next level.
Culinary journey
My culinary journey started with a love for cooking and creating meals that bring people joy. I have grown from preparing meals at home to working professionally as a cook and developing my skills through training and hands-on experience. Every kitchen experience has taught me something new, and I am constantly learning, improving, and discovering my own cooking style. My goal is to build a successful culinary career and use food to showcase the beauty of Nigerian flavours.
Cooking inspiration
My biggest inspiration is my love for food and the happiness people feel when they enjoy something I have prepared. I am also inspired by my mother and the traditional flavours I grew up with. I love taking familiar Nigerian ingredients and giving them a creative touch while still respecting their roots. Seeing people enjoy my food motivates me to keep learning and becoming a better cook.
Signature dish
My signature dish is Nkwobi, a traditional Nigerian delicacy made with cow foot and a rich, spicy palm oil sauce. I love preparing Nkwobi because it allows me to showcase the depth and boldness of Nigerian flavours while paying respect to our food heritage. My approach is to achieve the perfect balance of tenderness, spice, and richness, while presenting it beautifully. For me, Nkwobi is more than just a dish—it represents culture, creativity, and the joy of sharing Nigerian food with others.
Why I want to participate
I want to participate because cooking is my passion, and I see this competition as an opportunity to showcase my creativity, skills, and love for Nigerian food. I also want to learn from other talented cooks, challenge myself, and gain valuable experience that will help me grow in my culinary journey.
What winning would mean
Winning would mean a lot to me because it would be a great achievement in my culinary journey. It would give me more confidence, exposure, and opportunities to grow my cooking career and inspire others through my passion for food. Most importantly, it would show me that with hard work, courage, and consistency, my dreams are possible.
