- Business challenge
- One of my biggest challenges is having the financial resources to grow my food business consistently. I also need support with improving my skills, building my brand, reaching more people, and gaining the confidence and exposure to take my business to the next level.
Culinary journey
My culinary journey started from home, where I developed a love for cooking by watching, learning and helping in the kitchen. Over time, cooking grew from something I enjoyed into a passion I wanted to develop seriously. I enjoy experimenting with flavours, learning new techniques and creating dishes that are both visually appealing and memorable. My journey has taught me to be resourceful, especially when working with different ingredients and limited resources.
Cooking inspiration
I’m inspired by my Nigerian roots, everyday ingredients and the endless possibilities of food. I love taking familiar flavours and presenting them in creative ways, while also exploring different cuisines and techniques. I’m especially inspired by the ability of food to tell a story, bring people together and create an experience beyond just a meal.
Signature dish
My signature dish is Meamie’s Tropical Feast, an Afro-fusion creation inspired by tropical flavours. It combines coconut rice with pineapple-coconut catfish, crispy plantain roses, and pineapple glaze. The dish represents my approach to cooking: taking accessible ingredients, combining Nigerian influences with global inspiration, and creating something colourful, creative and full of flavour.
Why I want to participate
I want to participate because cooking is more than just a skill to me; it is a form of creativity and self-expression. I love transforming simple ingredients into dishes that are exciting, memorable and full of flavour. This opportunity would allow me to challenge myself, learn from other talented cooks and showcase my Afro-fusion style and versatility. I’m ready to step outside my comfort zone, represent my creativity and grow through the experience.
What winning would mean
Winning would mean more than receiving a prize. It would be a major step forward in my cooking journey and a chance to turn my passion into something bigger. It would give me the confidence, exposure and resources to develop my culinary brand, improve my craft and create more opportunities for myself. Most importantly, it would remind me that with creativity, consistency and determination, I can build something meaningful from my passion.
