- Business challenge
- Eko Flavours can help me overcome the challenge of limited exposure and access to industry mentorship. I have the passion, skill, and brand, but I need the platform, training, and network that Eko Flavours provides to take Velourcakes Food Enterprises to a national and global level.
Culinary journey
I have been cooking since when I was young, starting with basic home meals and gradually learning new techniques . I’m now focus to build professional skills and exploring different cuisine.
Cooking inspiration
My inspiration comes from family, culture, and flavors. I love taking traditional dishes and giving them a modern twist. Seeing people enjoy food I made makes me want to keep learning and improving.
Signature dish
My signature dish is Native Pasta. It features pasta cooked al dente and served in a rich native sauce made with palm oil, traditional spices, crayfish, and vegetables. I pair it with suya-spiced protein for heat and garnish with fresh herbs for color and freshness. It blends Nigerian culinary heritage with international presentation, creating a dish that is both comforting and innovative.
Why I want to participate
I want to participate because this is the right time to take my culinary journey to the next level. I’ve spent years perfecting my Native Pasta and other dishes in my home kitchen, and I’m ready to test my skills, learn from professionals, and showcase Nigerian flavors on a bigger stage. This competition is the platform I need to grow, get feedback, and turn my passion into a career.
What winning would mean
Winning would mean getting the mentorship and platform I need to grow as a chef. It’s not just about the title — it’s about the chance to learn, network, and use this opportunity to launch my food career. It would prove that hard work and staying true to your roots can take you far.
