Culinary journey

My journey began in 2017 when my dad pointed out that I had a penchant for staying in the kitchen for long periods, conceptualising different meals. Since then, my cooking has evolved, drawing concepts and ideas from different countries within Africa and beyond, even venturing into food entrepreneurship.
In 2024, I began sharing my creations on YouTube as a digital repository for my ideas. The journey has been fun, yet challenging and I am excited to see how I can grow further in my journey.

Cooking inspiration

Mother Earth inspires me. I observe what we're blessed with and I think of how fresh ingredients can be transformed into delicious meals.
My inspiration is beyond the familiar- I'm always curious as to what else exists, what methods to try, combinations to make, etc.
Lastly, I'm inspired by cultures: how food is prepared in different cultures, the similarities and differences, and I work to reflect the same in my plate using what is accessible to me.

Signature dish

A signature dish would be anything that spotlights vegetables in any and every form. More than a dish, my style focuses on nutrient dense meals and this is demonstrated readily through vegetables. From sauteed intercontinental veggies to indigenous soups, my kitchen is a representation of health on a plate.
Furthermore, as I have been told, I make regular dishes in a non regular way. This, I believe, is a signature in itself.

Why I want to participate

Many times, when I create a dish and it meets or supersedes my expectations, I want to share it with the world. Good food is too good to not share.
By participating, I will have the long-sought opportunity to invite others into my mind and thought process, to share with them, the little I know on how we can make good use of available resources.
This chance would also be a challenge to me, to improve on my skills and abilities and become a better cook. I would also get to interact with other professionals, share ideas and cultures and gain perspectives into different culinary executions.

What winning would mean

To win would be a public stamp of what I believe is in me. It would also provide a platform to expand my capacity in knowledge and skill, and hopefully fortify me with more resources to propel my entrepreneurship ventures.
