Culinary journey

My culinary journey has been one of passion, dedication, and continuous learning. Most of my culinary skills were acquired through online classes and self study. I have always believed that practice leads to progress, so I consistently challenged myself to learn new techniques, recreate dishes, and improve my skills every day. Through persistence and hands on experience, I have grown into a chef who is confident in preparing both traditional Nigerian cuisine and a wide range of international dishes. My journey has taught me that with discipline, curiosity, and consistent practice, it’s possible to turn passion into excellence.

Cooking inspiration

My passion for cooking was inspired by my family, especially my mom, who is a caterer. Growing up in a family of six as the only boy, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen watching my mom and my sisters prepare meals. I was always curious about the cooking process and enjoyed observing how different dishes came together. Over time, my mom also taught me some of the basics, which sparked my interest even more.
When I got to school, I started cooking on my own and practicing regularly. The more I cooked, the more I realized it was something I genuinely loved and wanted to pursue. What began as curiosity has grown into a career driven by passion, continuous learning, and a desire to create memorable dining experiences.

Signature dish

One of my signature dishes is my Signature Stir-Fry Pasta. It’s a dish inspired by Chinese stir-fry techniques and flavors, particularly the use of Chinese sauces. I took that inspiration and recreated it in my own style by combining those bold flavors with my personal cooking techniques and presentation. The result is a unique pasta dish that is rich in flavor, well balanced, and one of my customers’ favorites. It represents my creativity and my ability to blend international influences with my own culinary identity.

Why I want to participate

I want to participate because I see it as an opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I want to improve my culinary skills by learning from experienced chefs and gaining new techniques. I also want to showcase my talent and creativity, allowing more people to experience my passion for food.
Beyond the competition, I look forward to meeting new people, building meaningful connections within the culinary industry, and sharing my belief that food is more than just something we eat it is an art that brings people together, tells stories, and creates unforgettable experiences. I believe this opportunity will help me become a better chef and inspire me to keep pushing the boundaries of my craft.

What winning would mean

Winning would mean a lot to me because it would be a validation of my hard work, dedication, and passion for the culinary arts. As a self-taught chef who has learned through online classes and consistent practice, it would prove that determination and perseverance can lead to excellence. Winning would also give me a platform to showcase my talent, inspire other aspiring chefs, and open doors to new opportunities that would help me grow professionally. Most importantly, it would motivate me to keep learning, creating, and representing Nigerian cuisine with pride while continuing to explore international flavors.
