- Business challenge
- One of the biggest challenges I hope this competition will help me overcome is limited brand awareness and visibility. Participating would give me an opportunity to showcase my culinary skills to a wider audience, increase publicity for my brand, attract new customers, and ultimately drive more sales. I see the competition as a platform to introduce my food and passion to people who may not have discovered my brand yet.
Culinary journey
My culinary journey began with a genuine love for food and the joy that comes from bringing people together through a good meal. What started as a passion gradually grew into something I truly cherish creating dishes that are not only delicious, but also comforting, memorable, and full of personality.
Cooking inspiration
What inspires my cooking most is the joy that food brings to people. I love the feeling of creating something that makes someone pause, smile, and ask for another bite. I’m inspired by Nigerian flavours, family meals, everyday ingredients, and the creativity that comes from putting my own twist on familiar dishes.
Signature dish
The Royal Lagos Jollof Experience( Smoked Jollof Rice — slow-cooked in a rich, aromatic pepper and tomato base
* Suya-Spiced Charcoal Chicken — delicately grilled with a signature Nigerian spice blend
* Caramelised Dodo — golden sweet plantain, pan-seared to perfection
Why I want to participate
I want to participate because I see this competition as an opportunity to challenge myself, grow as a cook, and share my love for African cuisine with a wider audience. I want to learn from other talented cooks, push my creativity beyond what I already know, and prove to myself that my passion for food can take me further.
What winning would mean
Winning would mean so much more than taking home a prize. It would be a validation of the passion, creativity, and love I’ve poured into cooking. It would give me the confidence to dream bigger, continue developing my craft, and share the beauty of African cuisine with even more people and also be a stepping stone to establish my restaurant some day
